WCPA's 2007 Annual Meeting and Brunch will be held on Sunday, April 29
from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Doral Arrowood Resort in Rye Brook, NY.

**Please note that this is a change in date and location from what was previously posted on our site and distributed in our mailings.**

Our guest speaker will be Westchester County Executive Andy Spano. Much more information will be posted on this site as the events of the day are formalized, so please stay tuned!

WCPA's 2006 Annual Meeting and Brunch was held on Sunday, May 7
from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Manhattanville College.

There was a generous amount of time at the start to reconnect with colleagues and socialize before beginning the business meeting. Over brunch, we all had the chance to catch up with old friends and get to know new members.

The business meeting began around 11:30. Our outgoing WCPA President, Dr. Jamie Greene, took a few moments to reflect on her tenure in office. One of her recent initiatives was to establish a "membership drive" that will continue into the administration of Dr. Barbara Kapetanakes.

Dr. Paul Greene was presented with the Distinguished Service Award at this meeting.

New WCPA board members were installed, including incoming Division Presidents and new chairs of WCPA Board committees. Please check our Officers page for an updated list of those serving on the WCPA Board.

Annual reports from Division Presidents and committee chairs/representatives were distributed for members to review. These written reports for 2005-2006 year summarize the WCPA activities and initiatives of the past year.

Our featured speaker, Julia Kim-Cohen, Ph.D., presented a superb talk on her research seeks to uncover ways in which genes and environments influence children's resilience and vulnerability to adverse experiences. Her topic was "Mother Nature and Mother Nurture in Mother's Depression and Children's Development."

Thank you to last year's Annual Program director, Dr. Barbara Kapetanakes, for all her work on coordinating the event.
