No longer will our students report to environments they have grown accustomed to for at least 13 years of their lives. Students who complete high school or a higher degree will be thrusted into an environment that is completely variable. Much less predictable than K-12 and college. We must prepare our students to hit the ground running for this inevitable transition. In this presentation we will discuss opportunities for our students to practice the skills necessary to build confidence and independence to tackle life after school.
Speaker's Bio: Dr. Singer created The Lifing Group (TLG) in 2019 to provide students with individualized programming focused on executive function catering to each individual's learning profile. Dr. Singer's dissertation focused on the concept of 'the one best system" in public education and has since created a practice that creates a space for individuals to create their own system. The Lifing Group creates unique service offerings with individuals across areas related to academics, career and mentoring. In addition to providing services to individual clients, The Lifing Group provides executive function implementation and professional development with local organizations and schools. Prior to Dr. Singer's private practice work he was a high school History teacher and varsity baseball coach. He continues to teach at the university level as an adjunct professor at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT.
