Description: Across the country, university courses on well-being and happiness are filled to capacity. But, college students aren't the only ones in need of practical, science-backed tools to help them thrive. In this engaging and hands-on workshop, we’ll explore the science of happiness and how to cultivate it, both personally and in educational settings. Drawing from the latest research from positive psychology and neuroscience, we’ll explore how educators and students alike can develop lasting skills for connection, emotional regulation, and flourishing. Whether you work in a school, clinic, or consultative role, you’ll leave with concrete, evidence-based strategies to enhance teacher well-being and support student mental health. Join us to discover the science behind happiness and how to help others build it.
Speakers' Bios:
Dr. Caren Baruch-Feldman, PHD, is a clinical psychologist and a certified school psychologist. She maintains a private practice in Scarsdale, NY; and works as a school psychologist in Harrison, NY. She is also the author of The Grit Guide for Teens and Co-Author of The Resilience Workbook for Kids. Baruch-Feldman has authored numerous articles and led workshops on topics such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques, helping children and adults cope with stress and worry, helping people change, and developing resilience, grit, and self-control. She is a fellow and supervisor in rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT), a type of CBT. Visit her online at www.drbaruchfeldman.com.
Ms. Emily Feldman earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Binghamton University. She currently works as a Registered Behavior Technician, supporting young children in school settings. Emily is passionate about school-based interventions that utilize evidence-based behavioral principles and are tailored to an individual’s unique culture, values, and motivation. She plans to pursue graduate studies in Child Clinical Psychology
