The presentation will highlight a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice (DEIJ) curriculum developed (i.e., awareness, skill development, practice) to promote cultural capacity in leaders. Although originally developed for tertiary settings, the flexibility of the model is adaptable to other educational and professional environments. This is an organic, interdisciplinary, systems-wide, and voluntary process, which is practitioner led with administrative support.
Participants will learn:
1. how to develop a transformative diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice curriculum. 2. how to modify curriculum needs to fit the needs of their community
Brief Bio: Dr. Stacy Williams is an Associate Professor of Psychology at Marist College; a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP); a licensed psychologist; the founder and director of the Marist College Diversity Leadership Institute (MCDLI); co-chair of the Training and Assessment Subcommittee on the College’s Diversity Council; past Social Justice chair of the Trainers of School Psychologists (TSP); and the co-chair of Creating Inclusive Communities (CIC) – a faculty pedagogical model to build and support cultural competency. Dr. Williams is currently President-Elect of Trainers of School Psychologists (TSP) and serves as Treasurer for New York Association of School Psychologists.
Zoom links will be sent to registrants the day before the presentation, the morning of the presentation, 2 hours before the presentation starts, and again 10 minutes before the presentation begins.
