Mindfulness is a “mental state achieved by focusing one’s awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one’s feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations.” But who wants to focus on the present moment these days? Who is calm? Who can calmly acknowledge thoughts and feelings? Mindfulness is a challenge in the best of times, but 2020 has brought the challenge to the Olympic level. This workshop is designed to explore the obstacles to mindfulness, how to clear the path to that goal, and, most importantly, it is designed to bring us all a little joy. |
