This workshop will define eight (8) cognitive ability domains specified in the Cattell-Horn-Caroll (CHC) model and describe how limitations in any one of these domains can be expected to manifest generally and specifically in the classroom setting. The purpose of this workshop is to enhance practitioner’s ability to establish ecological validity for identified/suspected cognitive weaknesses and to identify focused targets for intervention planning.

Learning Objectives:

1. Participants will be able to define eight (8) CHC ability domains that are related to learning.

2. Participants will be able to identify how deficits in any one of the 8domains might manifest generally and specifically in the classroom.

3. Participants will be able to document functional manifestations of cognitive ability weaknesses and prioritize targets for intervention planning.
