Register Here! This 2-hour interactive module will build on concepts introduced during Introduction to Polyvagal Theory, offering practical tools to implement during clinical work. It has been developed from the work of Deb Dana, LCSW, based upon Dr. Stephen Porges’ Polyvagal Theory. Participants should have basic understanding of the organizing principles of Polyvagal Theory, as emphasis will be placed on reinforcing the organizing principles and identifying methods of (re) shaping our autonomic nervous systems. Those who attended WCPA's "Introduction to Polyvagal Theory" in March 2024 are eligible to receive CE credit for this course. Learning Objectives:
Participants will be able to:
1.Use the Triggers & Glimmers map to identify 1 or more triggers/glimmers to each state, differentiating between triggers that result in sympathetic activation and dorsal collapse, and those glimmers that support ventral regulation.
2. Identify 1 or more co-regulating and 1 or more self-regulating skills for each of the 3 states (6 or more total resources) using the Regulating Resources map.
3. Apply the Triggers & Glimmers map to guide clients through identifying their unique triggers.
4. Apply the Regulating Resources mapping exercise to support their own regulation as well as the regulation of clients they serve.
