Lunch and Learn: Psilocybin and Treatment-Resistant Depression

Friday, January 7, 2022
1pm - 2pm
Presented by: Westchester County Psychological Association Clinical Division
Hosted by: Shahrzad (Sherry) Sadighim, PsyD

In recent years, there has been an enormous surge of interest in the use of psychedelic substances to treat mental health conditions. Results of new clinical research indicate that these medicines may soon become available as treatments for a host of psychiatric issues like depression, substance use disorders, OCD, and PTSD. One promising area of study is on the effects of psilocybin on treatment-resistant depression. This presentation will review the existing data on this topic and provide a forum for clinicians to discuss how to helpfully talk to our clients about psychedelics.
